As expected, Rossi becomes world champs after finishing third behind Stoner and Pedrosa in wet condition. I was there with thousand of MotoGP fans and I must say deja vu after 10 years absence. The atmosfere is good and cheerful with many booths from Kawasaki, KTM, Petronas, Yamaha, Suzuki and others.
Many cheer our local boys in 125cc Elly and Zulfahmi with their Aprilia and Yamaha. They deserve a better chance if more concerted effort were done to groom world class racer. I think Tony Fernandes effort in Lotus F1 team is a huge morale boost to local motorsport industry as people like him is the hero in getting things done like what he did to AirAsia.
OK, let’s watch smartphone quality video I took and hear motogp engine noise. It also shows Rossi overtook Lorenzo at turn 9.
These are the photos around grandstand and ticket booth where they implemented new web based system which took at least ONE minute to issue even one ticket. Can I complain? Grrrr……….

I stumbled upon this article about interesting things can be done using thumbdrive other than storing files. I have been using a lot of these features like booting Linux and portable apps but never thought about writing about it until above article came out. Nevertheless, it’s something many of you might find it new. Go ahead and try it.
1. Running portable applications and application suites (check out PortableApps.com)
2. Booting Windows or Linux from the drive (check out these TechRepublic resources, “Create your own bootable USB flash drive for Windows XP”, “SolutionBase: Puppy Linux teaches an old dog new tricks”, and “Linux in your pocket: Run SLAX from your USB keychain”)
3. Speeding up Windows Vista or Windows 7 with ReadyBoost
4. Creating a Windows password reset disk with the USB key instead of a floppy
5. Using the flash drive like a key to lock your computer (check out Predator)

ICT Tips #008: Understanding Computer Network August 27, 2009

What?
One very good example is Internet, which is the GIANT computer network linking millions of computers around the world together. A simple computer network can comprises of two computers linked together by cable.
Why?
Well, why people using Internet for? Chatting, sharing files, emails, finding infos, etc
How?
If it’s for local environment like office, wireless LAN is the cheapest and fastest way to do it. All you need are one wifi router that costs about RM100 or USD25 and a relatively new notebook/laptop/netbook which normally comes with built-in wifi client. The setup only takes few minutes and straight forward as follows:
1. Power up the wifi router.
2. Hookup the ethernet cable that comes with it between LAN port and notebook. This is to configure the router.
3. Find in the instruction booklet or CD about default LAN ip address of router and type it in the web browser’s address bar. Or if you are using Windows XP, double click “Local Area Connection” icon at bottom right of your computer. Then click Support bar to reveal Default Gateway ip address which is belongs to router.
4. Again look in the instruction for default username and password to enter the config page.
5. There are two most important configurations that needs immediate attention: Wireless and WAN/Internet settings. For Wireless settings, please type in new SSID/name, set security setting to minimum of WPA-PSK or WPA2 with long key words. Never set it to WEP because its vulnerability is widely reported in the Internet.
6. Normally people buy wifi router because of their need to access the Internet, so go to WAN/Internet setting to fill up connection type to PPPoE*, username ie myname@ISP and password. Save all setting.
7. Back to wireless setup, double click on “Wireless Network Connection” at bottom right of Windows XP in notebook. Click “View Wireless Networks” to reveal available SSID and hopefully our newly setup wifi router does shows its SSID. Double click the chosen SSID to connect and type in same key words as in step 5 twice.

Wireless Network Connection
8. If everything is alright, your notebook will be able to establish a connection to wifi router and eventually to the Internet.
